LANDSCAPE PARTITION​

The landscape Partition is a captivating piece that beautifully blends historical narrative with exquisite craftsmanship. It serves as both a decorative element and a storytelling canvas, depicting the iconic lanscapes from the Mahabharata through contrasting techniques.
On one side, the screen features intricate embroidery made from thread, wood, and stone on a rattan surface. This detailed work maps out key locations from the Mahabharata, such as Hastinapura, Indraprastha, Kurukshetra, Dwaraka and Vrindhawan. These places are depicted with delicate designs that reflect their significance in the epic. The rivers, including the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati, are also represented, their courses flowing across the screen in a graceful display. The use of thread, wood, and stone adds a tactile richness to the cane base, creating a unique and textured visual experience.
The opposite side of the screen presents a mirror image of this concept through exquisite wooden marquetry. The warm, natural tones of the wood are used to craft a detailed map of the same locations and rivers. This side exudes an earthy, organic feel, with the natural grain of the wood adding depth and dimension to the depiction. The wooden marquetry mirrors the embroidered side in design, yet offers a contrasting sensory experience, embodying the duality and balance present in the greatest epic.
